Add content to pages

Main Window

The main window displays:

  • The "Page" area to the left displays the page or page selection.

_Please note: the edition is limited to 10 pages at a time._

  • The "Content" area to the right displays the list of available products.
  • The "Module" area at the bottom right displays the list of modules (presentation modes).

Simple Brief Modes

Simple Brief features various working modes available via the toolbar:

"Add content to pages" mode

- To create pages and add content using product records.

"Edit document online" mode

- To edit text and images from an InDesign document.

"Review document" mode

- To annotate and validate a document.

"Revision manager" mode

- To track the modifications made during the production cycle.

Global Actions

To zoom in/out pages

  • Use the zoom ruler located at the top left.

To search for products

To find a product record in the list :

  • Click in the search box at the top right.
  • Enter the string to search.
  • To restrict the search to one of the information fields, select the field name in the Filter menu (optional).

To group / ungroup product records

To group product records based on the content of an information field:

  • Ctrl-Click on the information field to display the menu.
  • Select 'Group on' Field Name 'from the menu.

To ungroup:

  • Ctrl-Click on the information field to display the menu.
  • Select "Ungroup" from the menu.

Page Actions

To create a placeholder

  • Click and drag in the "Page" area to define the area of the placeholder.
  • Click and drag the placeholder to the desired location.

Other solution:

  • Click on the + button at the bottom of the "Page" area.

_Note: this option is most relevant when a grid has been assigned to the page as it will create the placeholder at the size of the grid cell._

To remove an area of ​​placement

  • Drag the mouse over the placeholder.
  • Click on the wheel button of the placeholder.
  • Choose "Delete placeholder" from the menu.

To assign a product record to a placeholder

  • Click and drag the desired product record ("Content" area) in the placeholder ("Page" area).

To remove a product record from a placeholder

  • Drag the mouse over the placeholder.
  • Click on the wheel button of the placeholder.
  • Choose "Remove record from placeholder" from the menu.

To assign a module to a placeholder

  • Select the placeholder.
  • Select the check box of the required module ("Module" box).

_Note: Several modules can sometimes be used in the same placeholder._

To remove modules from a placeholder

  • Drag the mouse over the placeholder.
  • Click on the wheel button of the placeholder.
  • Choose "Remove modules from placeholder" from the menu.

To select the product record from the placeholder

  • Click on the wheel button of the relevant placeholder.
  • Select "Reach client record".

To edit a product record in Simple MOM+ without leaving Simple Brief+

  • Click on the product record in the "Content" area.
  • Right click to display the menu
  • Select "Edit" from the menu.

To check-out pages to be edited in InDesign

  • Select one or more pages.
  • Click on the wheel button in the "Page" area.
  • Select "Check out".

The selected pages status changes in the flatplan.

When your Simple Workspace account is connected to your Dropbox account, the document is created in the Dropbox folder a few seconds later. Otherwise, it will be available in the "Publishing environment" folder assigned to the application. Users can then download the document to edit it with InDesign.


To check-in edited pages back into Simple Workspace

  • Save and close the InDesign document.
  • Verify that the Dropbox synchronization is on by checking that the folder icon is green.

Note: If Dropbox is not used, you must replace the InDesign document in the "Publishing environment" folder assigned to the application. Make sure the new version of the document has the same name as the original.

  • Select the pages which have been checked-out.
  • Click on the wheel button in the "Page" area.
  • Select "Check-in".

The status of the selected pages change in the flatplan.

The page previews are updated in the flatplan.
